Talacauvery
From Madikeri 52Km, Kushalnagar 82km, Mysore 1723km Bangalroe 312Km, Mangalore 172Km
One of the prominent pilgrimage centre in Koadagu. Talacauvery is the place of origin of the river Cauvery amidst enchanting hely settings. It si eight kma from Bhagamandala and 46km
from Madikeri. Nesting at the foot of the Brahmagiri and suroounded by jungle. Cauvery is variously called as Lokapavanee, Lopanudra, Dakshina Ganga. Talacauvery is also called Modal 'Cauvery' at theis place.

River Cauvery is treated as the mother Goddess by the Kodavas. The place is on the Brahmagiri range known as Agnigiri, Vaugiri and Gangagiri in the puranas. It originates from a one mete pit, "Brahma Kundike"
According to local legends Kavera muni Pleased Lord Brahma by his unflinehing penance at Brahmagiri. He was blessed with a daughter Cauvery. She was married to sage Agastya. Once Agastya left Cauvery in his water pitcher (Kaamandala) and went on
a mission. Cauvery overflowd from the vessel from here forming a river. At the place of origin of the river is a small mantapa
known as Jyothi Mantapa Which has an eternal lamp buring in its front is instaled by sage Agastya. There is an Aswath (Pipal) Three, where it is believed Agastya worshipped Lord Aswatha Narayana. There is an also a shrine of Ganesha. The height of brahmagiri hill is about 300 ft with one can have a magnificent view of the sunset from here.

Abbi falls
About 8 Kms from Madikeri is the beautiful waterfall and picnic spot, where the Abbey cascades 70 ft down to flow as a small river. A path through coffee and cardamom plantation off the main road adds to the attraction of the perennial waterfall. Enjoy the gushing, roaring beauty but a desire to take a dip in the cool waters may prove to be risky.

NagaraHole
The Nagarahole game sanctuary was constituted in 1955, and extends over 111 sq. miles of reserved forests
in the eastern region of the district. The game sanctuary comprises three forest ranges namely, Nagarahole,
Kallahalla & Thitimathi. The sanctuary is situated at the distance of 85 kms from Madikeri, and is close to Heggadadevanakote of Mysore district. It is accessible by a good all weather motorable road from Thithimati, which branches of from Mysore & Madikeri.
There is a forest lodge here. The sanctuary affords an excellent opportunity to the visitors
to see wild animals of all kinds, from the majestic elephant and the graceful deer to the wily Jackal
moving about in their natural surroundings unmindful of intruders.

Mallalli Falls
Mallalli falls is situated in the foots of pushpagiri hills. It in about 18 kms from somwarpet, the falls is 2 kms inside the main road. Mallalli Falls is situated in Coorg and is around 25 kms from Somwarpet and 260 kms from Bangalore. The exact location of Mallali falls is in Bettadahalli Gram Panchayat in Somwarpet of Coorg. It's is an eye feasting sight of river Kumaradhara gushing through the valley and falling into a gorge, with lush green mountains around.

Harangi Dam
A reservoir with picturesque spot is one of the main attractive tourist centre at a distance of 9 kms from Kushalnagar. Best season to visit is between August and December. Private buses are available or you can hire a taxi from Kushalnagar.

Golden temple
This comprises of two universities and two monasteries and is inhabited by Tibetian Monks. This is situated near kushalnagar, 40 Kms from Madapur and known as "Byle Kuppe". Bylukuppa, a nearby village of Kushalnagar (belongs to Mysore district) houses refugees from Tibet. Although refugees, Tibetians have kept their culture and heritage intact. Tourists can witness their way of life, architecture; even taste Tibetian dishes and Tibetian handicrafts are also available. Regular buses operate from Kushalnagar to Periyapatna via Bylukuppa.

Dubare
Another picnic spot near Kushalnagar on the banks of river Cauvery. Elephant Training camp belonging to forest department is situated here and they allow you to feed and bath the elephats. River Cauvery comes under Mahasheer fishing area, supported by Coorg Wild Life Society. This island situated near Kushalnagar is not connected by public transport. Hire a taxi from Kushalnagar.

Cauvery Nisarga Dhama

Which is one of the famous tourist spot of the state. When Cavuery enters Mysore, just tow kms away from Kushalnagar. This place had to be reached by undergoing the thrilling experience of crossing a hanging bridge. On this Island the State Forest Department has created a Deer park called Nisargadhama. There are many cottages put up here for tourists witheating facilities
Thsi is a beautiful sopt for whose who wish to enjoy a quietholiday amidst natural surroundings.
Boating in the river is a special pleasure. The sound of chirping birds and the swinging Cauvery aro7und is soothing to the soul. There are a number of buses to reat the spot from Mysore and Bangalore and also somwarpet and Madikeri.

Thadiyandamole
Thadiyandamole, rising to a height of 5729 feet is the highest peak of all in Kodagu. Though not very high from a good trekkers perspective, it is their steepness that makes them though to conquer.
These trek routes still do not see a lot a lot of human intervention, due to which thery are kept very clean and green. The picturesque surrounding only add to the allure of these trek routes.

Gadduge (Rajas Tomb)
From Madikeri - 6Kms Kushalnagar - 30kms. Mysore - 120kms Bangalore - 260 kms. Mangalore - 140kms
There are two royal tombs in this place. In one fo them VeerarajeMdfra and his wife Maha Devammaji were buries. The other tomb is that of Lingarjendra, the former's younger brother. It was built by his son Chikkaveerarajendra.
There are smaller tombs of priest Rudrappa and officers like Biddanda Bopu and Somayya. They are impressivedomed structures with windows made out of bronze.

Irupu Falls
This refreshing Irupu Falls is situated at a distance of 48 kms from Virajpet on the way to Nagarhole. The Shiva temple here is said to have been dedicated by Lord Rama himself on the banks of River Lakshmanatheertha a tributary to the river Cauvery. This place is believed to cleanse one's sins and is visited by thousands of devotees from far places on Shivaratri day. There is temple dedicated to Sri Ram, surrounded by paddy fields, from where it is a climb up to the falls through natural forest.

Bhagamandala
This is a well known pilgrimage centre situated at a distance of 39 kms from Madikeri. Bhagamandala is on the banks of the confluence of three rivers, Cauvery, Kannike and the sub terranian Sujyoti, popularly known as "Triveni Sangama". The famous Sri Bhagandeswara temple is located here. A large number of tourists visit Bhagamandala particularly during the Thula Sankramana jatra and the entire Thula month(October-November).

Rameshwara Temple
Kutta Srimangalaroad and proceeding further five kms on a mud track Here is the Rameswara temple of legend and antiquary. It is believed that Lord Rama installed the Rameswara Linga. There is a river Lakshmana Thirtha, which forms
a water fall river takes birth in the Brahmagiri hills. This temple is in Kerala style with a circular frontage.
To the Northwest of the temple is the famous Irpu Falls created by the Lakshmana Thirtha, which jumps down the ravine in two stages from a height of 170 feet. This falls be reached through steep Climbing Path of about one km from the temple but is approachable only during summer.
